Who is Audrey Freshwater?
Audrey Freshwater is a national speaker on Attachment, Trauma (Compassion) Informed Care, Moving Beyond ACEs, Child Development, Understanding Behavior, and Best Practices for Working with Children. Ms. Freshwater is a certified trainer for the Building Strong Brains Curriculum. Ms. Freshwater is the current Deputy Director for the Save the Children Fund in Arkansas. Previously she was the ACEs, ABC, and Behavior Help Administrator for the Arkansas Division for Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE). Prior to her career with the DCCECE she was an investigator of child abuse and neglect and for 7 years was the Program Director for Williamson County CASA. Ms. Freshwater received her undergraduate education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR where she majored in Psychology and Social Work. Additionally, she holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Argosy University in Nashville, TN.
During her over a decade long career, Audrey Freshwater saw a need for awareness and education surrounding Adverse Childhood Experiences, Trauma, and Compassion. In 2019, she created Compassion Informed Care, LLC with the purpose of motivating and educating legislators, educators, community leaders, parents, and more around the importance of being compassion informed. Ms. Freshwater has trained over 4,000 individuals in the Building Strong Brains curriculum and the importance of compassion/trauma informed practices during her career.
